Stand With Parkland Endorses Stephanie Murphy

PARKLAND, FL – Today, Stand with Parkland, the National Association of Families for Safe Schools, announced its support for Stephanie Murphy, candidate for Florida’s U.S. House of Representatives District 7. The advocacy organization was founded by all 17 families of the victims of the tragic shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School and is dedicated to making schools safe for students and teachers across the country. “Violence in our schools affects everyone. It is an American epidemic, and it is time that we all come together to do something about it. This is why we are committed to supporting policymakers, regardless of their political affiliation, who are dedicated to making our schools safer.

“We are proud to endorse Stephanie Murphy because we believe she is willing to do the hard work and make the difficult decisions necessary to implement public safety reforms that will improve the safety of our children and staff at schools, improve mental health support and promote responsible firearms ownership.

“As the families of the victims in Parkland, we look forward to working together with Stephanie Murphy and other elected officials on the state and federal levels to prevent tragedies like ours from happening in the future.”
